As migrações assumem-se como um dos fenómenos na história da humanidade que mais consequências têm tido a diversos níveis, tanto social, cultural, económico ou político. Até meados do século XXI a população nos países da África Subsariana irá duplicar. Falamos de potenciais migrantes, dadas as diferenças em termos de desenvolvimento humano face a locais de destino, como a União Europeia. Quando um grande número de pessoas migra aumenta o risco da migração irregular. Com este trabalho de investigação pretende-se responder à Pergunta de Partida “Quais as implicações sociais para a União Europeia, dos fluxos migratórios irregulares oriundos dos países da África Subsariana expectáveis até 2050? A metodologia utilizada na presente investigação alicerça-se no raciocínio hipotético-dedutivo e utiliza uma estratégia de pesquisa qualitativa. Os elementos recolhidos serão sistematizados, analisados e interpretados, através de uma análise SWOT (“Strengths, Weakeness, Opportunities and Threats”), que permitirá retirar conclusões sobre a problemática da investigação e, bem assim, propor algumas medidas, em resposta à Pergunta de Partida. Pretendemos contribuir para identificar os fatores que poderão contribuir para a ideia, hoje crescentemente veiculada, de que existe uma associação entre migrações e instabilidade social na União Europeia e apontar possíveis soluções, que permitam mitigar esta instabilidade, real ou percecionada. Abstract: The Migrations are one of the phenomena in the history of mankind that have had more consequences at different levels, social, cultural, economic or political. Until the middle of the 21st century, the population in sub-Saharan Africa will double. We are talking about potential migrants, given the differences in terms of human development compared to places of destination, such as the European Union. When there are a large numbers of migrates, the risk of irregular migration increases. With this research, we intend to answer the Question of Departure "What are the social implications for the European Union of the irregular migratory flows from the Sub-Saharan African countries expected by 2050?” The methodology used in the present research is based on hypothetical-deductive reasoning and uses a qualitative research strategy. The elements collected will be systematized, analyzed and interpreted through a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis, which will allow conclusions to be drawn on the research problem and also propose some measures in response to the Question of Departure. We intend to contribute to identify the factors that may contribute to the idea that there is an association between migration and social instability in the European Union and point out possible solutions that can mitigate this instability, real or perceived.
