For about four months, I could feel the struggles and some of the problems that a company of this size can face, from delays in the delivery of the orders, to the sending of erroneous orders, passing through the constant stress of waiting for urgent answers from the suppliers. But it was also possible to feel the small victories and conquests of the company, as the placement of all the orders of the month within the established term, or even the acquisition of one of the commpany's main competitor in the European market.After reaching the last stage of my academic career, this has allowed me to consolidate in a practical way all the theoretical concepts I acquired during the last five years, as well as to deepen even more some of the themes.In an organized way, I will try to integrate all my professional experience with the theoretical components that serve as a base, and so I structured my report to start with a brief theoretical jorney, based on bibliographic references, regarding the subject of sourcing, focusing in a more concrete way on global sourcing and sourcing in low cost countries, always with the objective of highlighting the importance of these in obtaining competitive advantage in an increasingly global market. Afterwards, a brief introduction of the Paul Stricker company was made, focusing on its history, its products and services, its performance and its future prospects. Subsequently, I present and describe the tasks that I carried out throughout the internship, culminating in a conclusion where I try to relate all the issues of this experience, from the theoretical concepts to the practical tasks.O presente relatório visa dar a conhecer a minha primeira experiência profissional, levada a cabo através de um estágio curricular realizado na empresa Paul Stricker.Sendo uma empresa em clara expansão e com um forte posicionamento no mercado, este estágio proporcionou-me uma oportunidade única de entrar em contacto com o mundo profissional. Durante cerca de quatro meses, pude sentir na pele alguns dos problemas com que se depara uma empresa desta dimensão, desde atrasos na entrega de encomendas, ao envio de encomendas erradas, passando pelo stress constante à espera de respostas urgentes dos fornecedores. Mas também foi possível sentir as pequenas vitórias e conquistas da empresa, como a colocação de todas as encomendas do mês dentro do prazo estabelecido, ou até a aquisição de um dos principais concorrentes no mercado europeu.Depois de chegar à última etapa do meu percurso académico, este estágio permitiu-me consolidar na prática todos os conceitos teóricos que adquiri ao longo dos últimos cinco anos, assim como aprofundar ainda mais algumas temáticas.De maneira a tentar integrar de forma organizada toda a minha experiência profissional com as componentes teóricas que lhe servem de base, estruturei o meu relatório de estágio de maneira a começar com uma breve jornada teórica, com base em referências bibliográficas, relativamente ao tema do Sourcing, focando-me de forma um pouco mais concreta no sourcing global e no sourcing em países de baixo custo, sempre com o objetivo de salientar a importância destes na obtenção de vantagem competitiva no seio de um mercado cada vez mais global. De seguida, faço uma breve introdução da empesa Paul Stricker, focando-me na sua história, nos seus produtos e serviços, no seu desempenho e nas suas perspetivas de futuro.
