This monograph constitutes a critique of the ontological-discursive reconfiguration that dematerializes the category of woman as a sexed and historically situated political subject, addressing its inflection across ontopolitical, epistemic, and normative dimensions. Grounded in three interdependent theoretical axes, the writing seeks to: (i) develop a historical-anthropological reconstruction of sexed-female oppression as a foundational mechanism of civilizational organization, predating patriarchy and already operative in Paleolithic societies, in light of the theory of the differential valence of the sexes formulated by Françoise Héritier; (ii) contextualize the emergence of transgenderism and critically examine the linguistic turn of the 20th century driven by analytic philosophy and post-structuralism, highlighting its appropriation by sectors of gender studies which, by shifting sexual difference to the performative realm of identity, obstruct the intelligibility of material subjugation; and (iii) critique the incorporation of identity-based assumptions into the legal-discursive frameworks of democratic rule-of-law states, where the substitution of sex with “gender identity” undermines the isonomic foundations of redistributive justice. It is argued that such a shift does not emancipate but rather reconsolidates female oppression, as it is shaped by a transgenderist ideology rooted in a neoliberal — technocratic, aestheticised, and market-driven matrix — that erases the female body as an objective marker of millennia-old subordination. By distinguishing oppression from performativity, the study investigates how the interchangeability between women and transgender individuals leads to the erosion of the political subject “woman,” along with her historical redress and institutional and legal protection
