This study aims to bring a panoramic view of the extraordinary appeal, the crisis of the Supreme Court, and, in the foreground, investigate, in more detail, the specific requirement of admissibility of that action, known as general repercussion of the constitutional issue. In summary, the general repercussion is an admissibility filter whose primary function is to qualify the examination of the extraordinary appeal in order to condition your judgment on the merits to situations where the issue challenging the object is relevant in the social, economic, legal or political and at the same time, whose interest overcomes the limitations of subjective question. Are analyzed the examination procedure of extraordinary appeal and general repercussion, the general ideas of the concepts of relevance and transcendence, and the importance of this requirement in the statement of the Supreme Court as guardian of the Constitution
