This work presents a theological and ecclesiological deepening on the Christian mission. Thus, the study aims to analyze the theme of mission in the magisterium of Pope Francis, focusing on his ecclesiological perspective of a missionary Church "going forth," based on the Decree Ad Gentes of the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council (1965) and in dialogue with Pope Francis' first apostolic exhortation, Evangelii Gaudium (2013). For this purpose, the research is based on bibliographic works in the biblical, theological, liturgical, pastoral, missionary, historical areas, and in the magisterium of bishops and popes. The study followed a sequential path, starting from the Sacred Scriptures, the recognition of the dignity of the baptized Christian as an active agent of mission, and also considered the documents of the ecclesial magisterium. The analysis covered the Ad Gentes decree of the Second Vatican Council and the documents that addressed the mission up to Evangelii Gaudium. Based on the data obtained, a continuity, harmony, and dialogue between both documents was identified, in the face of a global context in need of the evangelical message.
