Resumo: Since 2013, Chinese politics has undergone major changes, from the rise of its new leader, Xi Jinping, the current President of the People’s Republic of China, to the profound structural political changes postulated by the new government. Through a qualitative state-of-the-art study of the last 10 years of Xi Jinping's mandate, it will be consolidated what changes have occurred, how they have affected the main Chinese political institutions, their decision-making process and, consequently, Chinese foreign policy. Furthermore, it will be analyzed what are the points of continuity and discontinuity of Xi’s foreign policy opposed to his predecessors, Hu Jintao and Jiang Zemin, and what are the main interests behind it. Based on this analysis, Chinese behavior will be classified in the light of the theory of revisionist or status quo states, and, in this case, it will be used the definition and interpretation of one author, Mearsheimer

Ainda, será analisado quais são os pontos de continuidade e descontinuidade de Xi Jinping em relação aos seus predecessores, Hu Jintao e Jiang Zemin, e quais são os principais interesses por trás desta política externa.
