NURSING CARE PROVIDED TO PATIENTS WITH ASTROCYTOMA AND MININGIOMA TUMORS: Literature narrative review

Resumo: The nursing care provided to patients with astrocytoma and meningioma tumors is importante to guarantee a comprehensive and humanized approach during the treatment of these brain pathologies. The objective of this study is to analyze the role of nurses in caring for patients with astrocytoma and meningioma, seeking to identify the main challenger faced and effective intervention strategies. To achieve this objective, a bibliographical review of scientific articles, books and documents related to the topic will be carried out, in order to theoretically support nursing practices aimed at these patients. The expected results include the description of the most pertinent nursing  care, the importance of education and support for patients and families, in addition to the identification of possible gaps in the care provided. It is concluded that the role of nurses is fundamental in monitoring patients with astrocytoma and meningioma, contributing significantly to improving quality of life and the effectiveness of treatment. It is essential that the nursing team is trained and dedicated to providing holistic and individualized care, always aiming for the patient's well-being and recovery.

El objetivo de este estudio es analizar el papel de las enfermeras en el cuidado de los pacientes con astrocitoma y meningioma, buscando identificar los principales desafíos enfrentados y las estrategias de intervención efectivas. Para lograr este objetivo, se realizará una revisión bibliográfica de artículos científicos, libros y documentos relacionados con el tema, con el fin de sustentar teóricamente las prácticas de enfermería dirigidas a estos pacientes. Los resultados esperados incluyen la descripción de los cuidados de enfermería más pertinentes, la importancia de la educación y el apoyo a los pacientes y familiares, además de la identificación de posibles brechas en los cuidados prestados. Se concluye que el papel de las enfermeras es fundamental en el seguimiento de los pacientes con astrocitoma y meningioma, contribuyendo significativamente a mejorar la calidad de vida y la efectividad del tratamiento. Es fundamental que el equipo de enfermería esté capacitado y dedicado a brindar cuidados holísticos e individualizados, siempre con el objetivo de lograr el bienestar y la recuperación del paciente.A assistência de enfermagem prestada ao paciente com tumores astrocitoma e meningioma é importante para garantir uma abordagem integral e humanizada durante o tratamento dessas patologias cerebrais. O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a atuação do enfermeiro no cuidado a pacientes portadores desses tumores, buscando identificar os principais desafios enfrentados e estratégias eficazes de intervenção. Para alcançar o objetivo estabelecido foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica em artigos científicos, livros, revistas e documentos relacionados ao tema no sentido de embasar teoricamente as práticas de enfermagem voltadas para esses pacientes, as lacunas ainda existentes na assistência prestada, a importância da orientação e suporte ao paciente e seus familiares e, que tivessem publicação recente. Concluiu-se que a atuação do enfermeiro é fundamental no acompanhamento de pacientes com astrocitoma e meningioma, o que contribui significativamente para a melhora da qualidade de vida e eficácia do tratamento.
