Summary: The paper recommends the classical behaviour with some convenient modifications due to the great misunderstanding concerning diagnostic and therapeutic procedures on breast cancer. Protocols and clinical trials should be employed only after being aproved by oficial specialized institutions. This would avoid a multiple and inefficient aproach to the problem as well as bad results. It also shows the importance of treating breast cancer correctly from the begining, which is the only chance of curing the disease.

It also shows the importance of treating breast cancer correctly from the begining, which is the only chance of curing the disease.Em virtude da grande disparidade de condutas propedêuticas e terapêuticas para o câncer da mama, incorretas em grande proporção, o autor recomenda a conduta clássica com as modificações que a prática já demonstrou que devam ser incorporadas à rotina. Chama a atenção de que as pesquisas e os protocolos devem ser de âmbito exclusivo de organizações especializadas oficiais e que apenas depois de comprovado êxito analisado por comissões especializadas sejam utilizadas pela classe médica em geral, evitando-se dessa forma a diversificação de procedimentos, a confusão de conceitos por parte daqueles menos afeitos ao problema e os conseqüentes insucessos.
