Summary: Faced with our Brazilian reality and the social discrepancy we experience in education, Youth and Adult Teaching becomes a solution to try to solve this inequality, however, in practice, teachers within the classroom end up strengthening school segregation beyond spatial segregation . There is still a lot to advance in relation to the teaching of Youth and Adult Education - EJA, since it is increasingly undervalued and it is not a policy with many investments. In this sense, this article seeks to contextualize illiteracy in Brazil with data and the importance of the EJA modality in an attempt to solve and alleviate the educational inequality that we live in Brazil today, using data collected from the IBGE and experience reports in the teaching modality in question.

Aún queda mucho por avanzar en relación a la enseñanza de la Educación de Jóvenes y Adultos - EJA, ya que está cada vez más desvalorizada y no es una política con muchas inversiones. En ese sentido, este artículo busca contextualizar el analfabetismo en Brasil con datos y la importancia de la modalidad EJA en un intento de resolver y aliviar la desigualdad educativa que vivimos en Brasil hoy, utilizando datos recopilados del IBGE e informes de experiencia en la enseñanza. modalidad de que se trate.Diante da nossa realidade brasileira e da discrepância social que vivemos na educação, o Ensino de Jovens e Adultos se torna uma solução para tentar solucionar essa desigualdade, entretanto, na prática professores dentro da sala de aula acabam fortalecendo uma segregação escolar para além da segregação espacial.
