Educação à distância: o uso da ferramenta fórum de discussão na plataforma virtual Moodle

In the Distance Education (EAD) modality, learning is closely related to the process of collaboration between peers. This article is the result of a study that aimed to demonstrate how the Moodle virtual platform, through the pedagogical tool discussion forum, is being used as a pedagogical resource for the construction of collaborative learning in distance learning undergraduate courses. It is a basic research, whose purpose is the generation of useful knowledge for the advancement and improvements in distance learning. Through a qualitative approach, bibliographic data were selected. The data collection instrument used to carry out this research were questionnaires containing open and closed questions applied at the Open University of Brazil (UAB/EAD) in the municipality of Santana to the students of the Sociology Degree course at the Federal University of Amapá (UNIFAP). Based on the theoretical foundations listed, the analysis and discussion of the collected data was carried out. It was concluded that the discussion forum tool is of great importance in the construction of collaborative learning in the distance learning modality, but that for this it is necessary greater engagement, behavioral changes regarding the use made by users, both students and teachers/tutors.
