Summary: 195 Pseudomonas aerug inosa strains, most of them isolated from blood and cerebro spinal fluid cultures, were serotyped by slide agglutination test. The serotypes 0:6 and 0:11 were the prevalent types with 25,64% and 20,54% respectively. The serotypc 0:10 caused a meningitis outbreak involving maily children less than one year of age, in 1974 during meningococcal epidemic in São Paulo City. By Fyfe piocina typing method, 12 piocine types were disclosed among the serotypes with the predominance of pyocine types 1,3 and 10 that accounted for almost 90% of all typed strains. It's stressed the combined use of the serological and pyocine typing method in order to differenciate isolates belonging to the same serotype.

Instituto Adolfo Lutz1989-12-29info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionAvaliado pelos paresapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.saude.sp.gov.br/RIAL/article/view/3695510.53393/rial.1989.49.36955Instituto Adolfo Lutz Journal - RIAL; Vol. 49 No. 2 (1989); 193-198Revista del Instituto Adolfo Lutz - RIAL; Vol. 49 Núm. 2 (1989); 193-198Revista do Instituto Adolfo Lutz; v. 49 n. 2 (1989); 193-1981983-38140073-9855reponame:Revista do Instituto Adolfo Lutz (Online)instname:Instituto Adolfo Lutzinstacron:IALporhttps://periodicos.saude.sp.gov.br/RIAL/article/view/36955/35158Copyright (c) 1989 Tânia Mara Ibelli Vaz, Kinue Irino, Ilka Maria Landgraf, Maria Cristina de Cunto Brandileone, Vera Simonsen Dias Vieirainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessVaz, Tânia Mara IbelliIrino, KinueLandgraf, Ilka MariaBrandileone, Maria Cristina de CuntoVieira, Vera Simonsen Dias2024-02-28T20:09:44Zoai:ojs.periodicos.saude.sp.gov.br:article/36955Revistahttps://periodicos.saude.sp.gov.br/RIAL/indexPUBhttps://periodicos.saude.sp.gov.br/RIAL/oairial@saude.sp.gov.brhttps://doi.org/10.53393/rial1983-38140073-9855opendoar:2024-02-28T20:09:44Revista do Instituto Adolfo Lutz (Online) - Instituto Adolfo Lutzfalse
