Summary: The objective of this article is to discuss the main perspectives regarding nursing careprovided to the transgender population in health services. This is an integrative literaturereview conducted in the BDENF database, using the descriptors "Transsexuals," "HealthCare," and "Nursing Care," combined with the boolean operator AND. Articles publishedbetween 2018 and 2024, in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, and available in full text wereincluded. After applying the exclusion criteria, 10 articles were selected and grouped intothree categories. The first category addresses the low attendance of the transgenderpopulation in health services and their limited adherence to the offered actions. The secondhighlights the importance of the visibility of the transgender community within hospitalsettings. The last category deals with the deep-rooted prejudice among healthcareprofessionals toward this population, which unfortunately hinders the guarantee of theirhealth rights. From the analysis of the selected literature, it was possible to infer that thetransgender population faces several issues concerning access to primary health care. Thisstudy will discuss aspects ranging from their invisibility to the care provided in hospitalsettings.

Editora Brazilian Scientific Publications2025-02-25info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/529410.36557/2674-8169.2025v7n2p2599-2612Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 7 No. 2 (2025): BJIHS QUALIS B3 - FATOR DE IMPACTO SJIF 5.807 - ÍNDICE H 22; 2599-2612Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 7 Núm. 2 (2025): BJIHS QUALIS B3 - FATOR DE IMPACTO SJIF 5.807 - ÍNDICE H 22; 2599-2612Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 7 n. 2 (2025): BJIHS QUALIS B3 - FATOR DE IMPACTO SJIF 5.807 - ÍNDICE H 22; 2599-26122674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/5294/5271Copyright (c) 2025 Pedro Lima, Ana Nascimento, Jamilly Jesus, Leticia Sá, Marcelha Silva, Aylane Silva, Janaína Silva, Lindalva Alencar, Mikellane Santos, Cleirton Conceição, Rikelme Sousa, Jéssica Aguiarhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessLima, PedroNascimento, AnaJesus, JamillySá, LeticiaSilva, MarcelhaSilva, AylaneSilva, Janaína Alencar, Lindalva Santos, Mikellane Conceição, CleirtonSousa, Rikelme Aguiar, Jéssica2025-02-26T11:48:31Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/5294Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2025-02-26T11:48:31Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false
