The genus Micrasterias (Desmidiaceae, Conjugatophyceae) on Itaparica Island, Bahia, Brazil

Resumo: Considering the scarcity of studies involving the phycofl ora of Bahia, the present study reports the results of a taxonomic inventory of Micrasterias of Itaparica Island, Bahia. From August 2014 to October 2015 we collected 41 samples of planktonic and periphytic material from lentic environments, using a plankton net and/or squeezing aquatic macrophytes. We identifi ed 16 taxa of Micrasterias, of which M. furcata var. dichotoma (Wolle) Růžička is an addition to Brazilian phycofl ora and M. radians Turner is the fi rst record to Bahia State. The study showed that 55% of the taxa are rare in the study area.

Durante agosto de 2014 a outubro 2015 foram coletadas 41 amostras de material planctônico e perifítico de ambientes lênticos, usando rede de plâncton e/ou espremido de macrófi tas aquáticas. Foram identifi cados 16 táxons de Micrasterias, dos quais M. furcata var. dichotoma (Wolle) Ruzicka é adição à ficoflora brasileira e M. radians Turner foi registrada pela primeira vez para estado da Bahia. O estudo mostrou que 55% dos táxons são raros na área de estudo.Iheringia.
