Vocational and Technological Education: Teaching Programming Logic through Concept Maps

Summary: The subject of programming logic is fundamental in the undergraduate Computer Science course, presenting a high degree of learning difficulty. This paper discusses the challenges of teaching programming logic and assumes that the use of concept maps can be a facilitating alternative for meaningful learning. The methodology used is the demonstration and reporting of an example of a concept map created to highlight and briefly analyze the concepts of the subject. The results indicate that the methodology proved efficient in providing the production of potentially significant and dynamic educational material, capable of inducing positive changes in the learner's cognitive structure.

Este trabajo discute los desafíos de la enseñanza de la lógica de programación y parte del supuesto de que el uso de mapas conceptuales puede ser una alternativa facilitadora del aprendizaje significativo. La metodología utilizada es la demostración y el relato de un ejemplo de mapa conceptual creado para evidenciar y analizar brevemente los conceptos de la disciplina. Los resultados señalan que la metodología demostró ser eficiente al proporcionar la producción de un material didáctico potencialmente significativo y dinámico, capaz de provocar alteraciones positivas en la estructura cognitiva del aprendiz.A disciplina lógica de programação é fundamental no curso Superior de Ciências da Computação, apresentando elevado grau de dificuldade de aprendizagem. O presente trabalho discute os desafios do ensino de lógica de programação e parte do pressuposto que o uso de mapas conceituais pode ser uma alternativa facilitadora da aprendizagem significativa. A metodologia utilizada é a demonstração e o relato de um exemplo de mapa conceitual criado para evidenciar e esmiuçar sucintamente os conceitos da disciplina.
