Gypsy Peoples in Brazilian Postgraduate Studies: What Do the Theses and Dissertations Say?

The research aims to develop a systematic debate on the academic achievements of Brazilian postgraduate programs, focusing on the representativeness of Romani themes in doctoral theses and master's dissertations defended in the last ten years (2012 to 2022).Methodologically, the research, with a descriptive exploratory qualitative approach, used a state-of-the-art approach to highlight the following variables: number of productions, regions, institutions, major areas of knowledge and areas of knowledge in which these productions were realized. As a result, the research points to the need to include Romani peoples in scientific productions and, based on this, to build critical reflections on this issue. Furthermore, the research emphasizes the importance of a critical debate on structural and institutional racism, identifying it as fundamental in the process of training future researchers and in building the anti-racist struggle in education.
