Resumo: In order to qualify the attention in primary care services regarding overweight and obesity in Brazil, self-instructional and specialization courses were offered to primary care health professionals at a national level. The objective of this study was to develop an evaluative process of distance education offerings for the prevention and control of overweight and obesity through an evaluability study, following Thurston &Ramaliu's methodology. Evaluative models were constructed and validated in workshops and consensus, resulting in two evaluative matrices - one for the self-instructional course and another for the specialization course. Primary data were obtained from students, tutors, and course coordination. The evaluative model generated indicators and measures that allow for the improvement of educational actions in distance learning, promoting a culture of evaluation of educational offerings.   Keywords: Distance education. Health assessment.Para qualificar a atenção nos serviços de atenção primária em relação ao sobrepeso e obesidade no Brasil, foram oferecidos cursos autoinstrucionais e de especialização a profissionais da saúde da atenção primária, em nível nacional. O objetivo deste estudo foi desenvolver um processo avaliativo das ofertas educacionais a distância para prevenção e controle do sobrepeso e obesidade por meio de um estudo de avaliabilidade, seguindo a metodologia de Thurston & Ramaliu. Foram construídos e validados modelos avaliativos em oficinas de trabalho e consenso, resultando em duas matrizes avaliativas - uma para o curso autoinstrucional e outra para a especialização. Os dados primários foram obtidos de estudantes, tutores e coordenação de curso. O modelo avaliativo gerou indicadores e medidas que possibilitam aprimorar as ações educacionais na modalidade a distância, estimulando a cultura de avaliação das ofertas educacionais.   Palavras-chave:Educação a distância.
