Spatial variability of rainfall erosive potential in Alagoas

Summary: | Erosion, characterized by the erosion of the soil due to the removal of surface layers caused by the action of erosive agents, is one of the main problems of Brazilian soils, thus generating an environmental, social and economic impact. In this way, the objective of this research was to determine the erosivity factor through rainfall data from the municipality of Santana do Ipanema, located in the hinterland of Alagoas, in the observation period from 1912 to 1985. These data were tabulated to calculate rainfall, rainfall coefficient and its relation to erosivity using six methods. During the 73-year period of data analysis, the annual average attainment was 851.96 mm. During this observation period, it was found that of the total, 27 years registered values above the average, while 46 years presented values below the historical average, with the wettest months being May, June and July, presenting values above the average. The average annual erosivity calculates using the six mathematical models values ranging from 500 to 7600 MJ mm ha-1 h-1 year-1 for a study area. All models can be used as an alternative to determine the average monthly and annual rainfall erosivity for the municipality of Santana do Ipanema in Alagoas. |

La erosión, caracterizada por la erosión del suelo debido a la remoción de capas superficiales provocada por la acción de agentes erosivos, es uno de los principales problemas de los suelos brasileños, generando impacto ambiental, social y económico. De esa forma, el objetivo de esta investigación fue determinar el factor de erosividad a través de datos de lluvia del municipio de Santana do Ipanema, ubicado en el interior de Alagoas, en el período de observación de 1912 a 1985. Estos datos fueron tabulados para calcular la lluvia, el coeficiente de lluvia y su relación con la erosividad usando seis métodos. Durante el período de análisis de datos de 73 años, la precipitación media anual fue de 851,96 mm. Durante este periodo de observación se encontró que del total, 27 años registraron valores por encima del promedio, mientras que 46 años presentaron valores por debajo del promedio histórico, siendo los meses más lluviosos mayo, junio y julio, presentando valores por encima de la media. La erosividad anual promedio calculada mediante los seis modelos matemáticos presentó valores que oscilan entre 500 y 7600 MJ mm ha-1 h-1 año-1 para el área de estudio. Todos los modelos pueden ser utilizados como alternativa para determinar la erosividad de la precipitación media mensual y anual para el municipio de Santana do Ipanema en AL.A erosão, caracterizada por ser o desgaste do solo em razão da remoção das camadas superficiais causadas pela ação dos agentes erosivos, é um dos principais problemas dos solos brasileiros, gerando, assim, impacto de ordem ambiental, social e econômica. Desta maneira, objetivou-se com a presente pesquisa determinar o fator erosividade através de dados pluviométricos do município de Santana do Ipanema, localizado no sertão alagoano, no período de observação dos anos de 1912 a 1985. Os referidos dados foram tabulados para cálculo de chuva, coeficiente de chuva e sua relação à erosividade utilizando seis métodos. Durante o período de 73 anos de análise dos dados a média anual de precipitação foi cerca de 852 mm. Durante este período de observação, constatou-se que do total, 27 anos registraram valores acima da média, enquanto 46 anos apresentaram valores abaixo da média histórica, tendo os meses mais chuvosos os de maio, junho e julho, apresentando valores acima da média. A erosividade média anual calculada utilizando os seis modelos matemáticos apresentaram valores que variaram de 500 a 7600 MJ mm ha-1 h-1 ano-1 para a área de estudo.
