Resumo em Inglês: This research has as its object the teaching work in Higher Education Distance in the context of neoliberal reforms, since the enactment of LDB 93.394 / 96 by which the EaD gained fully integrated mode status education system. The general objective of the research was to investigate the impacts of hyperspecialization of teaching work in EaD. Therefore, a the path of analysis that has gone through the study of international with a view to the fragmentation of teaching work in general and, distance learning, trying to identify how the teaching work in Higher Education. The theoretical-methodological approach adopted here was historical materialism in which knowledge does not is understood in isolation, but in its relation to human praxis. The structure and organization of the work were carried out based on bibliographic research and documentary of theses, articles, books, legislation and official data on Education and especially on Higher Education Level. The results indicate that the impacts of hyper-specialization on teaching work are manifested in two horizons: fragmentation and flexibility. These have as consequences intensification of individualism, as well as the continued disintegration of the the political organization of teachers and, therefore, the maintenance of a state of affairs desired by the ruling classes that have the means of production and the mechanisms of ideological control.
