Aplicação de indicadores de sustentabilidade hídrica na bacia hidrográfica do Rio Piquiri

Resumo: | One of the biggest problems threatening sustainability is the scarcity and misuse of water. Many countries in the world are experiencing severe water crisis, including countries with an abundance of water due to poor management and inadequate consumption. Aiming to contribute to the management of water resources, this study aims to assess water sustainability in the Piquiri River watershed by applying water sustainability indicators. The methodology used in this research is proposed by Gottstein (2020), which groups the indicators into three dimensions. The first integrates information on potential, availability and demand, with indicators of activation of potential, use of potential, use of availability and water quality. The second is performance indicators of the water resources management system, which are river basin committees, water resources plan, granting, charging, classification and information system. The third dimension is the water use efficiency indicators, which are: water service, sewage collection, sewage service and water losses in the network. To allow a better understanding of the results, classification degrees were presented. The dimension of indicators of potentiality, availability and demand presented a high degree of classification. For the water resources management system performance group, it was observed that most instruments of the National Environmental Policy have not yet been implemented in the basin, with a very low rating. The third dimension of the water use efficiency indicators also obtained the low degree of water sustainability. As a product, we have the data obtained in this dissertation for the use of interested parties in the management of water resources in the Piquiri river basin. Thus, it is concluded that in the Piquiri River hydrographic basin there are some points that deserve the attention of managers to improve the water sustainability of the basin's water resources. |
