This research proposes literature, poetry and art as potential tools in the anticapitalist struggle. At first, it presents the social construction of the contemporary world from a historical perspective, which emerged along with the Industrial Revolution. Then, we begin to discuss the artistic and literary related field. Among the artists who stood out in the counterculture movement, we give special attention to the work of the Curitibaborn Paulo Leminski. The purpose is to list alternatives to discuss the world we live in nowadays, illuminated by contributions of the hippie movement, the New Jornalism, the alternative media, poetry, graffiti and cyberculture.
