Resumo: The increasing demand for environmental adequateness, coming from the inspection service, clients, financial and insurance organizations, leads companies to consider their interaction with the environment as a survival issue, a premise of survival and a way to minimize losses in future business. In Brazil, federal and state laws already provide for the need for companies to present a Residue Management Plan - RMP when renewing their environmental license. To carry out environmental management, many industries are using Cleaner Production - CP, in a systematic way to set goals, realize your monitor and carry out changes in the processes. Car fixing companies fall as providers of services and generate hazardous waste in large quantity. The fact that they, most often small and micro businesses, compounds the problems. Based on CP, this paper presents a methodology for the preparation of a RMP. For this, developed and applied questionnaires, held diagnostics, qualify and quantify the waste generated and evaluated the economic potential actions. The scenario is environmentally worrisome, but there was progress on the organizational level of these companies which enables joint activities and implementation of a plan by reference.
