Work was conducted in the municipality of Herculândia, the state of São Paulo, in the period from November 2008 to January 2009. Its objective was to describe the dietary habits of individuals with diabetes (type II). Of the 64 interviewed patients 15.62% had other conditions associated with diabetes, diabetes + 40.62% had hypertension, 17.2% had diabetes + hypertension + dyslipidemia, and 26.56% had diabetes + obesity + dyslipidemia. All respondents reported doing some type of treatment, while 96.87% reported making dietary treatment. The extent of the waist / hip showed the risk of developing cardiovascular disease in 87.5% and the risk of developing complications of obesity was found and classified as very high risk in 78.13%, 9.37% in high risk and without risk in 12.5%. Factors associated with bad glycemic control were associated diseases or complications haveand present abdominal obesity. |
