Resumo: |
This is an exploratory research conducted with 62 women, students of the degree of Arts, History and Pedagogy of the Catholic University Center Auxilium Unisalesiano (Unit II), located in Lins SP, which seeks to identify the knowledge of those on the HPV (papilloma Human Virus) and their aggravation: cancer of the cervix, using a questionnaire with 7 questions concerning the matter. The analysis of the questionnaire answered by them the knowledge regarding the disease and its forms of prevention, revealed that it is still below the level of information for adolescents on STDs and their prevention. While this questionnaire has been applied within a university that is a social institution, science and education, with an identity based on principles, values, rules and forms of organization, it is assumed that the level of general knowledge and knowledge about STDs is greater than outside the same environment, the research showed the relevant data, such as the fact that almost 50% of respondents never or almost never went to a gynecologist, revealing only be in cases of emergency or to obtain any type of product the reason for the search for such a specialist. We also recognize that it is important that work be done to prevent with married women or older (above 30 years), it is they who have suffered most with this evil, and also teen-age, for the prevention and guidance, because such tools are still the best allies against the cancer of the cervix of uterus, since it is what gives the highest percentage of cure when found early. Reinforcing the idea that women should make regular examination of the Papanicolaou, also believe that the knowledge of the respondents revealed in this study strengthen the DSTs that deal in recent years has been a challenge for health professionals. There is much to do to achieve a change in social behavior that guarantees the pursuit of a safe sexuality. Whereas all the courses in universities should work on the cross-cutting themes set out in the National Curriculum Parameters and the subject is sexuality and STDs, we are given lectures enlightening on the subject whenever possible |
