Resumo: |
The tomato is one of the most economically important oleracea in the world market, both in value and in volume, however, this crop still suffers significant damage due to the incidence of bacterial wilt, which is an aggressive and difficult to control disease. The main control measure within integrated management has been genetic resistance. From the knowledge of genetic control of genotype resistance, it is possible to improve the efficiency of breeding programs. Therefore, the objective of this research was to study the inheritance of resistance to bacterial wilt in tomato genotypes Yoshimatsu and Hawaii 7996. For crosses and backcrosses, the genotypes Yoshimatsu and Hawaii 7996, both resistant to bacterial wilt, were used as parents. The experiments were conducted at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE), under greenhouse conditions to obtain the generations (F1, F2, F2;3, RC11 and RC12) and at the bacteriology laboratory for the preparation of the inoculum suspension Ralstonia solanacearum and Ralstonia pseudosolanacearum. Two statistical designs were used, one randomized block design with six treatments (Yoshimatsu, Hawaii 7996, F1, F2, RC11 and RC12) in three replications and another one using 62 treatments (Yoshimatsu, Hawaii 7996 and F2;3). The results showed that the resistance to bacterial wilt caused by the two species has different genetic control for Yoshimatsu and Hawaii 7996 cultivars. |
