Resumo: In this work we present the results of two quantitative researches carried out in four schools in the Igarassu-PE Center, whose objective was to verify the teaching and learning process of the contents of Decimal Numbering Systems. Motivated by the common computational dificulty that students have, even during high school, this presents some of the possible reasons responsible for such a situation. Based on what is recommended by the National Curriculum Parameters, we verified, through a questionnaire and throughout the Regular Teaching, some of the most present dificulties in the students in relation to the Decimal Numbering System; And also the way teachers and books approach this subject. After the verification of the results, a project was carried out with one of the 9th grade classes interviewed, whose development we present in this work, with the aim of exemplifying ways tot take up such content. In addition, we find suggestions for working the features of the Numerical Numbering System within the Numeric Field throughout regular Teaching.
