Resumo: |
This investigative work was carried out from a teaching strategy which is entitled Situation-Problem, aimed in favor the understanding of the subject Chemical Reactions in the first period of the course of Veterinary Medicine in this institution. Guidelines being followed came from Meirieu (1998) SP in work for chemical reactions that occur with release of gas and precipitate formation, among other cases. In the intervention were performed three experimental activities with issues regarding to the subject Chemical Reactions to assist students in solving the SP. We started from a questionnaire for the students' previous conceptions (diagnostic evaluation) and another questionnaire / interview was applied to teachers who teach in the course of Veterinary Medicine to find out the importance of discipline Veterinary Chemical Analysis in relation to the discipline of this same teachers. Also another issues had been taken in consideration such as experimental activities (formative evaluation) and responses to SP (summative evaluation). They were all recorded on MP3 audio recorder and video recorder. According to the results it can be noticed a significant improvement regarding the previous conceptions of students and also that experimental activities have contributed greatly in the teaching-learning process, especially to the cognitive development of the application of SP to the students. According to the application of SP, always in groups, following the theories of Piaget and Vygotsky, it was observed that the content of Chemical Reactions was better assimilated and that made easier to process the understanding of the results. Its also relevant to mention that the strategy applied (SP) in this work can also be used in other subjects relevants to the course of Veterinary Medicine in areas such as Physiology and Animal Nutrition, among others. |
