Resumo: |
The objective of this study was to characterize the social-economic profile of the creators and sanitary of the goat and ovine flocks of the Hinterland of Pernambuco, besides reporting the occurrence of congenital defects and identifying its factors associated. In order to study the social-economic-sanitary profile and the factors associated to the congenital defects a total of 150 properties, where questionnaires were applied and the characteristics of the owner, production, nutritional handling, sanitary care and reproduction were analyzed. For the study of the occurrence of the congenital defects a total of 215 properties were visited, where the occurrence was registered and these pathologies clinically characterized. For the study of the identification of the environment factors associated to the congenital defects, an univaried analysis and calculation of the Odds Ratio were used. The obtained results as to the socialeconomic and sanitary profile demonstrated that the goat and sheep flocks of the Hinterland of Pernambuco is a small breeder. In technological level II 72% of the breeders were pictured. The predominant installations are wrong, few register the occurrences of the flocks. The main clinical findings were: cutaneous abscesses, diarrhea, myiasis, abortion, lesions in the eyes, lesions in the mammary gland, anemia, submandibular edema, lesions in the lips, nasal secretion, congenital defects, lice, cough, retention of placenta, sudden deaths, lesions in the foot and lameness, lesions in the skin and pruritus, vaginal discharge and navel sicknesses. As to the occurrence of congenital defects a 52.09% frequency was observed being that the most frequent: flexion of the carpo-metacarpian joint, labialpalatinie fissure, polythelia, deviation of the vertebral spine, prognatia, micrognatia and multiple defects. The results showed significant statistical association between the occurrence of congenital defects and the following variables: animals born in the property and all the investigated clinical findings. The occurrence of the congenital defects is frequent being necessary to elucidate its directed causes in order to implant measures of prophylaxis and control for the correction of the identified factors of risk. |
