Resumo: The clay industry is responsible for producing a significant amount of waste, reaching 10% of total production. In this scenario the management of solid waste in accordance with PNRS has great relevance. These industries can be found in most states of Brazil and Pernambuco hinterland can also be found, contributing to the development of the region with serious infrastructure problems and socio-economic conflicts. Thus, the objective was to prepare a proposal for Technical Regulation of industries producing red ceramic in the Development Region (RD) of the Wild's St. Francis of Pernambuco suited to the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS). The methodology consisted of a multiple case study, carried out in three industries located in DR. We conducted a design business profile of the companies and the classification and characterization of solid waste produced by them. Thus, it was found that the main waste generated in these industries are come from losses in the production process. Thus, we sought to evaluate the main causes of losses by averiaguação of mtéria material quality through characterization of clay testing and product quality through the Quality Sector Program testing (PSQ). The tests were performed in laboartório in SENAI-PE, the only laboratory that has accreditation from INMETRO for this purpose, where all your procedures follow the ditrezes of regulatory norms and their equipment are calibrated periodically. The test results showed that industries use a clay with potential for the production of red ceramic pieces within the standards set by DOT. However, testing for product quality check, the batch sealing blocks of the three industries disapproved. From this we developed a model plan for management of solid waste management for the industries studied, which can be replicated to the existing ones in the country. At the end it was elaborated one technical regulation proposal for the adequacy industries to PNRS working the particularities and difficulties of RD
