A contribuição das pesquisas em ciências agrárias da Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco para o aumento do rendimento da cana-de-açúcar em Pernambuco: o caso da Estação Experimental de Cana-de-açúcar de Carpina

Resumo: This paper deals with the contribution that the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, through the Experimental Station cane sugar Carpina, performs with the intention of effecting improvements in the cultivation of sugar cane in the state of Pernambuco. These surveys are developed and passed on to eleven plants in the state, as well as for others in four states in the Northeast. The research is built on a public-private partnership with the RIDESA and eleven universities in Brazil, which perform genetic improvement, adapting to the culture of sugarcane suitable soil, also checking the best conditions of irrigation and drainage, biological control pest management, fertilization and after, on average, twelve years, the varieties are released for sale. Through an econometric model of multiple linear regression showed that the EECAC contribute, through their research, to increase the efficiency of cultivation of sugar cane in the state of Pernambuco. It is shown in this way that UFRPE fulfills its formative role of human resources in the areas of agricultural sciences, particularly through the courses of graduate Strictly speaking, to be appointed the number of graduates of several area courses agricultural sciences, at undergraduate and postgraduate, as well as various research on the genetic improvement of cane sugar.
