Resumo: Distance Education is a modality of teaching and learning that has been used increasingly in the educational field. This type of teaching is already foreseen in the Education Policy of the Municipal Education Network of Recife. This factor has become the main responsible for the desire to carry out a more detailed study on this education bias. In this perspective, this research has the objective of analyzing the perception of teacher educators of the School of Education of Recife - Professor Paulo Freire, regarding the use of distance education for the process of continuing teacher education and propose a training plan that contributes to The team of teacher trainers in the action of offering to the teachers of the Municipal Network of Teaching of Recife, the continued formation in the modality EAD. The theoretical contribution found support in Imbernón, Freire, Giroux, Bourdieu, Perrenoud, Albuquerque. DeAquino, Teixeira, Vaillant, among others. The methodology of this work consists of a case study with a qualitative research approach, in which the documentary analysis on standards was used as instruments for data collection; Printed questionnaires applied to the team of teacher trainers and semi-structured interviews with fourteen of these professionals. Through the method of content analysis, we sought to analyze the tapping, information and data recorded in the light of authors of the theme. The results show that the teacher trainers visualize the potentialities of the EAD for the continuing teacher education and indicate the need to subsidize the team of teacher trainers for this educational modality. The analysis of the data obtained also reveals the importance of the experiences experienced by the teacher trainer for his / her professional performance, which is due to indicate that the EAD, first needs to be experienced by the team of trainers and then with the teaching public that they attend.
