Resumo: Through a graphical interpretation, the building’s changes are represented in two different residential sets, since their construction until today: Modernist Village, designed by Flávio de Carvalho, between 1936 and 39 and the Boulevard Olga, with italian neoclassical features, built in the first decades of the 20th century, both in the city of São Paulo. To study occurrences during this period, is adopted a methodology to compile and select significant iconographic material, available in printed and digital sources. Those are converted to images through drawing language, made by the author of this research and later published as graphic pieces. The images aims to register basically two periods that marked the original and current state of Modernist Village and Olga Alley. Over 80 years, the two cases were the subject of interventions of vernacular character, a recurring phenomenon, which occurs in buildings, to meet occasional needs or adaptation of their spaces in the change of use. As a result, it is proposed a confrontation between both cases, to see the contradictions, loss of meaning and the antagonism that set them apart in their original settings, as well as the transformations that disqualify its conceptual purposes, creating, ironically, an identity between the two cases, to reveal the underlying elements veiled in everyday life. For perception of these particularities, it was adopted a methodology that uses drawing as a way to understand the problem of visual and comparative way in this period, the various interventions that occurred in that context, reinforcing the process chart the dialectic of emphasis and exclusion.
