Resumo: This thesis aims at presenting a study concerning the degree of college teachers who teaches students from the Advertising and Marketing course at an educational institution in São Paulo and identifying which teaching methodologies they use in their classes and if the Political and Educational Project recommend these. For this purpose, we carried out a qualitative research with educators who teach creative and marketing disciplines, divided not only by students’ degree but also considering the period in which such teachers started giving the course. From the responses obtained, we could verify that educators have a degree in different areas, including Social Communication, they are unfamiliar with active methodologies, and either they use methodologies similar to the ones they learned as students or they developed another way of conveying knowledge. They show some confusion concerning the expression “learn to teach to teach to learn,” and they believe it is a matter of learning contents, and not learn to teach so that they can teach students to learn.
