The present work has as object of study the cultural spaces of public use in the expanded center of São Paulo, which has as reference the city and that, through its public access and update processes or rehabilitation the city has passed, stimulate contemporary and collective forms of occupation, understanding the relevance of these architectural postures as a way of telling the history of the city and preserving its memory, starting from the city center as a first reference. Thus, from the analysis of three examples in the central region of São Paulo - Red Bull Station, Mirante 9 de Julho and Casa do Povo –, it was aimed to understand how the urban socio-cultural changes influenced the current (re)uses and how they can provide spaces of urbanity and otherness.
