Resumo: |
The dissertation develops an analysis of the work of Fredric Jameson and aims to contribute to the main theoretical field of education by the reconstruction of critical theory developed by the American thinker. Heir of the Frankfurt School, Jameson has done a great effort to detect the possibilities of keeping alive the critical and transforming potential of critical theory in the face of the greater complexity of the current context, developing new categories of analysis, without losing, their link with the original project of the Frankfurt School to take the criticism to the latest consequences and to denounce the contradictions that capitalism continually produces. He is, in particular, to examine the emancipatory possibilities that remain considering the breakthrough in the field of cultural industries (mediatic power) in the public sphere and the consequences of this progress on the formation of individuals. The analysis of the educational consequences of the diagnosis of society today held by Jameson, and emancipatory prospects that still remains is the subject of this dissertation. Through a reconstructive and critical research, the work confirms the productivity of Jameson s critical theory to the understanding of the formative phenomenon in the current context of late capitalism and presents indicative that can enhance the transformation of individuals and society. |
