Resumo: |
The central theme of this dissertation is the process of knowledge transfer among workers in the context of retirement. This subject has been approached by different areas of study, but with little emphasis on the administrative sciences. The relevance of studies that address this theme and that contemplate its complexity and subjectivity is mentioned. Furthermore, there is a shortage of studies focused specifically on the transfer of knowledge among workers in the context of retirement in the scope of higher education institutions (HEIs). The present study aims to answer the following research question: how the knowledge transfer of workers in the retirement phase contributes to a Higher Education Institution (HEI)? This dissertation aims to understand the importance and contribution of the knowledge transfer of workers in the retirement phase in an HEI. The specific objectives were: a) to identify the possible spaces for the transfer of knowledge (tacit and explicit) among workers in an HEI; b) describe how the transfer of knowledge (tacit and explicit) of the workers in the retirement phase to the other workers in an HEI occurs; c) identify the factors that facilitate and encourage the transfer of knowledge (tacit and explicit) for workers in the retirement phase of an HEI; and d) to identify the perception of managers and young workers in an HEI about the transfer of knowledge by workers in the retirement phase. This research is based on an exploratory and qualitative case study, performed in an HEI, in which fourteen workers in the retirement phase, eight managers and fourteen young workers participated. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, non-participant observation and focus group, which were organized with the support of NVivo®11 software, triangulated and analyzed through content analysis. The results emphasize the importance of socialization and trust in the knowledge transfer process. It is concluded that the transfer of knowledge contributes to the workers in order to bring work relations closer together, to acquire a greater degree of autonomy and recognition, to perceive opportunities for professional and personal growth, as well as contributing to the HEI, since through it the institutional history is recognized and valued, making it possible to improve processes, reduce organizational costs, and optimize the organizational climate. The results indicate contributions to the advancement of knowledge regarding the relation of the transfer of knowledge to the context of the retirement from an interpretative view, since few national and international studies that deal with this subject. |
