Resumo: |
Promoting active and healthy aging through comprehensive interdisciplinary care for the elderly represents an important strategy for coping with the demands of aging, which poses a challenge in the training of health professionals. The objective of this study was to know the perception of professionals who graduated from undergraduate nursing courses regarding the development, in their undergraduate training process, of the interdisciplinary skills necessary for comprehensive care for the elderly. This is a qualitative, descriptive and field study carried out with nurses participating in the Multiprofessional Residency Program in Health at the University of Passo Fundo in the year 2022. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured, individualized interviews and started only after approval by the Research Ethics Committee and signature of the Free and Informed Consent Form by the respondents. Data were analyzed based on the methodology of content analysis. Participants were 10 nurses who had their training in community, private and public universities in the states of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina. The year of admission to graduation varied between 2013 and 2017 and the year of conclusion between 2019 and 2022. Four participants were in the first year of residency (R1) and six in the second year (R2) of the Program. The understanding of professionals who graduated from undergraduate nursing courses was, in general, that their training did not provide enough interaction between different areas of knowledge and between theory and practice, thus reflecting on the development of interdisciplinary skills for comprehensive care for the elderly. |
