Resumo: The Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) profiles, despite having good mechanical properties, still have in its joints some lacunar aspects, especially with respect to the behavior of these, as well in relation with the procedure ofunion between the profiles, in order to achieve the best preservation of its mechanical properties. Thus, the present study was carried out with the objective of measuring the influence of GFRP profile joints on its mechanical properties, with this, to evaluate the possible substitution ofASTM A36 steel with GFRP profiles in road implement structures, getting, therefore, the reducing of equipment weight. For this, an experimental research was carried out, firstly, by testing the test specimens. As the main results, it can be inferred that, due to the analyzes carried out, the use of GFRP in road implements is promising. However, it should be considered the limitation that it has in relation to the impacts and to the low productivity when compared to the steel. This, because of its manipulation, which allows to infer that its use in the implementation still has much to be improved. Also, it is important to understand that the value that it willadd with the weight reduction, justifies the search for more researches that justify its economic viability, being in charge of the user to measure other production variables.
