Resumo: This work presents a reflection history to explain the participation of Rio Grande do Sul in the Brazilian performance in World War II. Historiography related to military issues has gained new adepts. In this sense, it is observed that this current focus in the study of the military institution and its related elements can provide new methodological paths and different historical approaches that lead to a new understanding of the social and cultural history of Brazil. Thus, we intend to discuss military recruitment in Rio Grande do Sul, highlighting the mobilization, dynamics and resistance that occurred there during the recruitment period, that is, during World War II. We will emphasize the analysis of the representation and influence of military recruitment during Brazil's conflict with Germany and its allies, and the relationship of this compulsory incorporation of men into military organizations in the face of the social, political and economic conjuncture of the province of Rio Grande do Sul, taking into account their probable peculiarities. In the first chapter I presented the internal and external relations of Brazil in the period leading up to the war and also during the conflict. In the following chapter I begin to enter into the real proposal of the dissertation, the recruitment, but in this part I clarify about Brazil's entry into the conflict and also the creation of the FEB. And in the last chapter I address the central theme, the recruitment for World War II. In a general overview the present work presents the War and Rio Grande do Sul, from what happened politically, economically and militarily in the State. I searched for information in the Military Archive of Porto Alegre, in newsletters, work orders, among others. I also visited other military Quarters such as those of the city of Cruz Alta and Bagé, where I had access to books of names of small squares of these regions that were to participate of the conflict in Italian lands.
