Resumo: Considering that the water scarcity in Brazil and all over the world is concerned searching new ways of wastage and minimize the use of water as well is the improvement of the water technology. The present research analyze the different uses and water loss existent in a system of supplying and distribution of water, analyzing the concepts and applications of methods to control the wastage in the distribution system. Therefore, a diagnosis was made in the US 75 of CORSAN objecting to verify the different amount of water wastage existing in Erechim RS, resulting in a standard water balance to the local concessionaire that owned just the water waste control by percentile indicators. Following a defined methodology through bibliographical research it was possible to associate the information acquired through the collection and analysis of the data referred to the functioning and effectiveness of the current system comparing the different amounts of occurred losses, as well as an viable economically way to initiate the system s adaptation of losses control. At last, standard water balance reviewed the existing of different amount of water uses and wastage before disrespected in the percentile indicators analyzes in a local concessionaire and the occurrence of leakiest in the pipe system as the biggest responsible of the water wastage volume in the analyzed system. The reached results could also be excellent to other companies worried about the wastefulness of this so important good for the society s development
