The brake is one of the main safety systems applied to stop mechanisms. Thus, the automotive brake system was applied to off-road off-road vehicles designed for normal and rugged terrain, which requires a lot of system efficiency. The objective of this work is to carry out a procedure to assist participants in the Baja SAE Brasil project at all academic levels to elaborate the selection of components for a light vehicle called Baja, with characteristics off-road use, used in an academic competition held by SAE BRAZIL. For this, the stages of planning and project design were applied according to the design methodology in engineering described by Pahl and Beitz 2013, developing their concept and thus simplifying the design of the brake system, aiming at the reduction of components, maintenance, innovation in types of materials applied to the system components and assembly time. This project requires that its components have high performance, durability, reliability, and that they meet the requirements requested in the regulations prepared by the competition organization. After discarding solutions demonstrated in this work, it resulted in a solution variant, which had guided the development of the brake system. Therefore, the procedure will lead to the elaboration of a brake system procedure for the Baja SAE Brasil vehicle. |
