Resumo: |
The purpose of this investigation lies in the appreciation of the fact that the Bible, as a literary work, houses a wealth of figures of speech, each with its own peculiarities to be explored, requiring, for its full understanding, a precise interpretation of its meaning. To achieve this objective, this research will undertake a dissertation that will address some genres and literary resources found in the Bible, establishing a dialogue with other literature, emphasizing the importance of figures of speech. Based on theories of Discourse Analysis and Textual Linguistics, this investigation will seek to analyze the impact of figurative language, which aims to reach different audiences. The text chosen for this study is the Sermon on the Mount, recorded in the Gospels, in chapters 5 to 7 of the book of Matthew. The analysis of this text will involve the identification of terms with a figurative meaning and their relationship with the other components of the sentence structure. 17 figures of speech will be examined, based on the theoretical foundations of José Luiz Fiorin. The aim is to assist readers passionate about language and scholars in their educational activities, whether in the secular environment of the school or in religious institutions. In this way, this dissertation falls within the scope of studies of figures of speech, an element of great relevance in the construction of textual meaning, when analyzing issues related to the elaboration of meanings based on theories considered appropriate for the selected corpus |
