In the current historical context, there are factors that have made the company quickly became, emphasizing multiculturalism and breaking with the past. Thus, education is in crisis, teachers lost their authority and feel devalued. Therefore, the aim of this research is to make a diagnosis relating to complex society (modern society) and the crisis of teacher authority, based on the studies of Hannah Arendt. The origin of this crisis, which is a major educational problems of contemporaneity, is located in a break with tradition. In this context, it is required a new profile educator who is able to teach and reconcile different cultures. Faced with the problem, we sought an alternative, choosing to study the concept of self-care, developed by Michel Foucault, as well as their possible pedagogical developments. The understanding of self-care and the aspects surrounding it are essential so that they can scale their possible relationships with the field of education and its contribution to addressing current educational problems. The study surveyed care of themselves from the first and second centuries, focusing on the Hellenistic period, specifically the thought of Seneca from the course Hermeneutics of the Subject. Also established brief comparisons and differences with Alcibiades. In the final part, turned to the pedagogical developments, seeking to link some aspects of aesthetics of existence with the educational experience, retaking the figure of the master and conductor of the teaching action |
