Resumo: In a society that overvalues agility, productivity and results, the time of childhood happening, its unique processes and its enchantment for the world tend to be smothered by haste. At this reality, this dissertation develops in Education Fundaments Research Line at Education Pos-graduation Program from Passo Fundo University. It aims, based on Maria Montessori studies, is to deepen the theme of childhood through child, teacher and environment tried, as well as the implications of the relationship between these concepts for a pedagogical practice that respects childhood and pays attention to integral children development. Therefore, it resorts to the hermeneutic stance in relation to the sources and study materials, as well as bibliographical research and the reconstruction of the Montessori concepts. In the developed course, in addition to situating the concept of childhood in Montessori inside the context of her educational work, it presents the child, teacher and environment triad and tries to indicate some of its current reach and limitations. Based on these considerations, it concludes that this triad indicates a pedagogy of childhood singularities and recognizes the potency that this period of development carries itself. This triad assists to exceed the prejudgments that stiffen the adult and that undervalue the child’s intelligence and capacity. Therefore, this study proves that a sensitive, ethics and aesthetic education, particulars from Montessori conception, allows gleam an integral formation, as well as knows, respect and create better conditions to childhood development time.
