Resumo: The Bus Industry in Brazil has developed in an accelerated fashion in terms of technological development and applied manufacturing processes. With this, it has sought better results during the project development and manufacture of car bodies, to improve the assessment of the manufacturing processes, assembly, and maintenance. The purpose of this study is to create a working tool which improves the manufacturing and the assembly of sets that comprise a bus body in order to facilitate the manufacture of components, with lower costs and a more optimized fashion possible. Thus, this work aims to develop a tool that uses the concepts of DFMA, distributed entered steps checks arrays. The purpose of the tool is to assist engineers and designers who work with bus body designs. At the end it conducted a case study on a micro bus body, which has been proven the actual effectiveness of the proposed tool enabling potential gains in the planning and design of the bodywork designs, or in existing bodies. The results obtained in the development of new components showed that the application of DFMA concepts will reflect a better productive process, with gains in reduction of cost components , structure weight reduction of manufacturing processes. The results also fall up in the question DFX, Design for Excellence , that is, highter quality, reliability , serviceability and maintenability, safety , environment and the user-friendliness.
