This thesis analyses the rule of foreign direct investment (FDI) regimes in Brazil and the impact of the national foreign policy. Its purpose is to verify which choice processes are able to achieve the direct investment's productivity potential. The need to attract foreign capital can be surprise by inherent conflicts of national economic policies and by distribution of power and fortune relations under the international system's juncture. This paper also questions the width of Non Discrimination Principle's applicability in order to revalue the foreign capital's treatment during each FDI's regime.
