Academic studies support the thesis that the Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) tends to bring good results in the management of multiproject, but most of these studies did not focus on product development envinronments and more specifically, the manner in which the CCPM supports the portfolio management in these typesof environments. Such a gap earns in interest when considering that some scientific studies point out the difficulties of developing af developing and effective portfolio management. Thus, this work aims to study the application of CCPM as a method of supporting the activities of PDP (Product Development Process) and overall portfolio management, in particular, in the form of case study work in a manufacturer of self-declared utilitarian aircraft CCPM technique. The results showed that the CCPM has significant quantitative gains in performance in managing multi-project environment, contributing to the PDP and the portfolio management of the subject company under study. Particularly in the commercial aviation sector of the company, it was reported increase in the number of projects delivered per year, reducing the lead time and increased productivity |
