Resumo: | The aim of this study is to evaluate the changes in groundwater quality in Bauru aquifer in city of Bastos, inlaud of São Paulo state, mainly the increase on concentrations of the parameter nitrate based on data of Department of Water and Energy of State of São Paulo. The preliminary assessment was based on information about groundwater extraction via deep wells. The information are position, static levels and of quality in the period of 2009 and 2013. Maps with the distribution of wells were elabored including concentrations of nitrate for class rate and identification of the areas with intense aviculture. The preliminary data assessment for the year 2009 show that 32%f wells have concentration of nitrate higher than the limit allowed by law from the Ministry of Health in samples of drinking water. The data from the year 2013 confirm that the high concentrations of nitrate persists and, in some cases, it shows increase in concentrations comparing to 2009. The other parameters assessed do not exceed the limits defined by law. This information suggests that the high aviculture activity, main economic sector in the city, are causing the changes in the groundwater quality, mainly because the high concentrations of nitrate which were observed |
