Resumo: |
In this research, we aim to carry out a study about specialized collocations present in texts related to exportation and agribusiness. For that purpose, we found our research in an interdisciplinary approach adopted by Camargo (2005, 2007) whose research is based on the Corpus-Based Translation Studies (BAKER, 1993, 1995, 1996, 2000; LAVIOSA, 2002) and on Corpus Linguistics (BERBER SARDINHA, 2004, 2006). We also search for theoretical subsidies in Terminology (CABRÉ, 1999, 2004; AUBERT 2001; BARROS, 2004; KRIEGER; FINATTO, 2004; KRIEGER, 2006) and Phraseology (ZULUAGA, 1980; CORPAS PASTOR, 1996; RUIZ GURILLO, 1997; ORENHA-OTTAIANO, 2004, 2009; PIMENTEL; ORENHA-OTTAIANO, 2012), in order to compile the parallel corpus of the study and carry out a research of specialized collocations selected for analysis. In order to develop our research, we have compiled a corpus consisted of articles from Brazil Export magazine. Its issues have articles translated from Portuguese into English. Regarding the methodological steps used for the development of our research, we used the computer program WordSmith Tools (Scott, 2007), which helped us in the process of examining the frequency of terms of higher potential to form specialized collocations by using three basic tools: WordList, KeyWords and Concord. Based on the results obtained by the analysis of the specialized collocations, we have observed that the translation of specialized noun collocations seems to be more complex, since it can either follow the pattern “node + noun (collocate)” or the pattern “collocate + of + node”. We expect this research may help translation learners to be aware of some challenges concerning to the translation practice, and the proposed bilingual glossary of specialized collocations in exportation and agribusiness may be useful for them |
