Resumo: This study is consisted of three essays connected by the issue of social participation in the specific context of Psychosocial Care. They involve issues raised by the praxis of intercession and its reflections arising from the Intercessor device in the field of Mental Health Collective. The first essay recalls part of the history of implementing practices in social participation, such as the Universal Health System and the proposals already deployed are reviewed. The second essay focuses on a particular experience, from the action of working as an intercessor Permanent Forum on Mental Health of the Region of Assis and seeks to show, in details, the operating modes in action, according to the Intercessor device. The third essay is proposed inspired by the psychoanalysis of Jacques Lacan, aiming the subjects of desire, understood as a dimension to be considered in the areas of participation and social control. Thus, throughout the work, an attempt is made to demonstrate how inseparable intellectual exercise is, both in terms of praxis to the Permanent Forum on Mental Health of the Region of Assis, as the production of knowledge at the University
