This work aims to understand one of several forms of relationship with the place: one that occurs through the memory as lived time that remains in the present experience of the world, giving the place a specific sense of past. The memory that we consider here is the memory of the samba Paulista and its permanence is embedded in the Bixiga neighborhood, in São Paulo. The sense of the past that engender memory and permanence is what we call place-samba - the Grêmio Recreativo Cultural Social Escola de Samba Vai-Vai
